This half term our year 1 children have loved learning about the natural world around them through their topic ‘The Enchanted Woodland’.
They all enjoyed their class visit to the beautiful gardens of Harlow Carr. During their visit they had the opportunity to investigate and identify different evergreen and deciduous trees. They searched for signs of autumn and enjoyed taking part in hands-on learning activities like leaf rubbings and woodland sketches. On their return to school the children have extended their learning by creating some beautiful natural sculptires inspired by Andy Goldsworthy.
