It is our school policy that all children wear school uniform and is based on the notion that school uniform:

• promotes a sense of pride in the school
• engenders a sense of community and belonging towards the school
• is practical and smart
• identifies the children with the school
• makes children feel equal to their peers in terms of appearance
• is regarded as suitable wear for school and good value for money by most parents
• is designed with health and safety in mind

Our Academy Uniform

School uniform, with the school's logo, can be ordered online via our Parent Mail system, Alternatively, plain items of clothing can be purchased from supermarkets and other outlets.

Children wear the following:

• Green sweatshirts or cardigans
• White polo-shirts, blouses or shirts
• Knee-length black/grey skirts or pinafore dresses. Gingham (green check) in summer.
• Dark grey or black trousers.
• Socks: ankle or knee-length – white, grey or black ONLY.
• Tights: black or grey ONLY.

Footwear

Children should wear sensible black school shoes. We do not allow children to wear trainers in school; this is because we think that this footwear is appropriate for sport or for leisurewear, but is not in keeping with the smart appearance of a school uniform.

Additional Guidelines

The following guidance should also be adhered to:

• No jewellery other than small stud earrings and a wristwatch.
• No elaborate hair accessories.
• Long hair (past shoulder-length) to be tied back
• Wellington boots- Can be worn to the academy in bad weather conditions, then changed to practical footwear inside.

PE Kit

• White round-neck PE T-shirts
• Black football PE shorts
• Trainers/Plimsolls

Earrings and Jewellery must be removed to take part in PE.

Pre-Loved Uniform

We have a selection of ‘pre-loved’ school uniform in used, good-quality condition in school which is available to anyone who needs it. Parents/carers can enquire at reception if they would like to see what is available.

We welcome donations of good quality school uniform which children have outgrown.This includes jumpers/cardigans, PE kit, skirts and trousers. We would like to decrease the amount of school uniform wasted each year while simultaneously providing an option to parents.
