Welcome to our website. We believe that good relationships between home, school and community are vital so that our children are given the best possible support in their early years.
We are committed to working in partnership with our families, and we feel that this website adds another dimension to links between home and school. We welcome any suggestions about how we can improve our site.
Our priority is to ensure that every child who comes to Moss Road Infant Academy will achieve their true potential, socially, emotionally and in academic terms whilst together ‘sharing the joy of learning’. As a forward-thinking school, we willingly embrace change and constantly strive to develop our practice.
Our team of dedicated teachers and support staff is committed to ensuring that all children achieve their full potential in an exciting and inclusive learning environment in which they feel safe, happy and secure. We are extremely proud of our children and the success they make.
We provide an education that covers all elements of the statutory curriculum as well as developing skills that will allow our children to be successful citizens. Personal development within the curriculum is a large factor in the work of our successful school. Alongside the delivery of a rigorous and varied academic education, producing well-rounded individuals is one of the most important aspects of a child’s education.
Within Leger Education Trust, personal development or character education is known as our Aspire Curriculum. Character education is about important life skills children need to learn for their spiritual, moral, social and cultural (SMSC) development. We work hard to develop character traits in our children such as: a positive attitude to learning, showing support to others, having persistence, integrity, resilience, and displaying effort- striving to be the best they can be.
We work hard to make sure that everybody feels welcome at Moss Road, holding regular events throughout the year such as reading workshops and curriculum days, where parents can join their children to experience what school life is like at Moss Road.
I have been part of the Moss Road team since 2018, becoming the Executive Head Teacher of both this school and Askern Littlemoor Infant Academy (where I have worked since 1998). This headship is a role which I am honoured to have and am so fortunate to be supported by a talented team of staff who put the children right at the heart of everything that we do.
Our school has four classes providing education for children from three to seven years and was a judged a 'good' school in our most recent Ofsted inspection (July 2023).
It is a real privilege to be the Executive Head Teacher at Moss Road and to have the opportunity to work with such wonderful staff, parents and children.
Best wishes,
Carol Ann Turner
